Seminyak traffic at sunset is brutal. A 5-minute drive from your villa to the beach can take 25-40 minutes when everyone in Bali is heading to the sunset beach clubs at 5pm. Walking is faster and more pleasant.

What "Walking Distance" Actually Means

• Excellent: 0-7 minutes walk (Petitenget villas to Petitenget Beach, Double Six villas to Double Six Beach)
• Good: 8-15 minutes walk (most Eat Street villas, Oberoi villas to Seminyak Beach)
• Borderline: 15-25 minutes walk (some southern Eat Street locations)
• Not walking distance: 25+ minutes (anything in Kerobokan or Umalas, even if marketed as "Seminyak")

How to Verify

Before booking, ask for the exact villa address. Drop it in Google Maps. Walking directions will give you the real number. Don't trust "5 min to beach" claims without seeing the address.
